Music is an Investment in Your Student's Future

Our app leverages technology to maximize the relationship between teachers and students. By giving teachers data about how their students practice, building a reminder system to help students make time for practice, and rewarding students for consistent practice, My Music Bridge helps beginner students navigate the early challenges of learning an instrument.

The Power of Music

Music is good for kids brains

Music Rewards the Brain

Playing music both stimulates the brain and can help reduce cortisol, a hormone that causes stress, in the musician. This results in a mentally engaging, fun, and rewarding activity!

Children that learn how to play an instrument cooperate better, are less aggressive and are more receptive to instruction from their teachers. Additionally, studies have linked the listening and playing of music to the production of dopamine in the brain, which promotes feelings of euphoria and joy!

Music Helps Children Grow

Music helps maintain neuroplasticity and expands the potential of the brain. Playing an instrument works both the left and right hemispheres of the brain as it requires both logical processing and creativity, like a full body workout for the mind!

Music Makes Children Smarter

Music has been linked to performance boosts in english, math, history, and science. Learning how to play an instrument helps develop the skill of auditory discrimination, which is the brain’s ability to distinguish different sounds from one another. Building this skill helps children learn their letter sounds, and in turn makes them better readers!

More Access to Your Students

First off, My Music Bridge offers music teachers all kinds of data about their student’s practice time, and allows them new ways to connect with their students. Specifically, creating goals for their students to practice during the week, set how long they want their students to practice each week, and how their students are feeling about their practice. For what teachers lack in time with their students, My Music Bridge makes up for in info and access.

Meet Moe, Your Musical Guide

In collaboration with music teachers, the My Music Bridge team created Moe the Monkey! Moe’s job is to make your experience with My Music Bridge, and in turn your experience with music, as joyful and pain-free as possible! He’ll give you reminders of when to practice, guide you to the benchmarks you set for yourself, and offer some encouragement when you get frustrated. Moe’s goals are your goals, and he can’t wait to help you reach them!

Set Your Practice Time

Our calendar helps students, parents, and music teachers work together to create a personalized schedule for practice time. This gives students flexibility, parents peace of mind, and helps teachers demonstrate how to practice music the right way. My Music Bridge then uses this schedule to remind students when it’s time to play. No more fights about practicing!

Earn Rewards

Lastly, My Music Bridge does much more than just remind students when to practice. The app also rewards users with badges for consistently following their practice schedule. Music lessons are usually only once a week for no more than an hour. Playing your instrument regularly outside of lessons is at the crux of how to learn music, so our app rewards it! Milestones include the day badge and week badge awarded for persistent practice through each specified length of time.
